DCUO: Lantern Reward Box Frequency

I thought it would be interesting to share where I got the lantern backup drops from and how often. This should give a better idea than most experiences simply because I run a lot of alts and through the same routine. The "Winter Lantern Reward Box" is a backup skin that was added to the Winter Seasonal event in 2020. It has a chance to drop from any final boss from On Duty (not open world or walk-in operations). So... if this is an even spread across On Duty instances, it should favor the shortest solo run because of "chance-of-box per min." This has not been the case with my gaming pattern. As of writing this article, it has been 24 days since the start of the event. Here are the instances I got the drop in:

Seasonal Alert

11 characters x 24 days = 264

4 drops = 1.52%

Spark of Parallax Solo

3 characters x 24 days = 72

2 drops = 2.78%

Lexcorp Tower Solo

2 characters x 24 days = 48

3 drops = 6.25%

Legion HQ Alert

1 character x 24 = 24

1 drop = 4.17%

Legion Raid

4 character x 3 = 12 (weekly)

1 drop = 8.33%

Also of note... I ran the Last Son solo 168 times with 0 drops. So it could all be dumb luck!

DISCLAIMER: This is just a small sample of my own gameplay pattern. Actually frequency is likely rare enough that it's impossible for any player to come up with actual numbers that are close to what's actually programmed into the game.
