DCUO: NEW Feats for Ally Grinding

Image
On August 11, 2026, DC Universe Online added a new and pretty large category of feats for leveling legendary allies . This is obviously retroactive so that players don't lose any hard work they put in over the years of the ally feature. With 19 allies and 2.6 SP per level 10, players could potentially login with an additional 49 unspent SP! There's a lot to swallow here, so I'll break down the immediate and ongoing plans. Day 1 When you first log in, if you maxxed out 5 allies or partially worked on more than that, you will have over 11 SP unspent, thus invalidating your armories. This just means you won't be able to switch using the 4 shortcuts. The best way to update your armories is to interact with each one physically.  Stand next to the armory and choose "activate all." This will let you use the armory despite the unspent SP. Assign you new SP. Imprint all... then repeat for all armories In this particular period... August 2026, also consider that we'...

DCUO: Seasonal Open World Buffs

Image
Crossbow (rifle style) Powered by Demon Fang I have a lot of alts and when it comes time for a seasonal event, I need to get through the quests as fast as possible. While most of the seasonal tasks are fairly optimized today, the time still stacks up for altaholics. The outside can be sped up considerably if you know how some powers work as they award different stats as well as how attacks hit. For all seasonal open world quests except Homecoming and Anniversary (because they're newer and use more of an episode template), NPCs have 5 health, but all of your attacks are reduced to 1 damage. So it takes 5 strikes or something that gives bonus on top of the 1 damage. Here are some tips from moderate to best... Rapid Fire The most basic, common sense is to choose weapons and powers that hit very fast. For weapons, dual pistol or handblasters are great. If this is not your character's weapon set, it doesn't matter. You don't need a good one because all damage is reduced to 1 ...

DCUO: Copying Settings

Image
Alyssa's Batmobile It seems like a little thing, but it is a bit of a hassle to have to sync all of your DCUO settings to a new computer. But you can easily copy them over by following these steps: 1) First, go to the following location with your old system or the one that already has DCUO installed:  C:\Users\$USERNAME\Documents\DCUO Save Data\ 2) Display details and copy the directory with the most recent date (it will be a long string of capital letters and numbers) to a flash drive. This contains overall settings, character settings and you chat window layout/channels. It will have all of your accounts setup for the launcher. You won't need to cancel through all of the tooltips for new users. Chat will have whatever size, channels and other settings you had before. All of your ignore settings will be intact. 3) Then open this folder and select all contents. Atrocitus and Dex-starr 4) Make sure DCUO is NOT running on the new computer. Copy all of that into the most recent da...

DCUO: All the King's Mermen

Image
Note: This is an old post, but the instance and its feats haven't been changed. Fortunately NPC are much easier to kill in the current state of the game, so there is some time savings. Original Date: February 25, 2019 Location: Justice Girls league site This feat entails taking out the following adds before killing off Corum Rath: 13 Flames of Sagittarrius 32 Brine 23 Drift / Silent School 5 Barnicle Golems 4 Morgwar While the list is daunting, it's really not as bad as it seems because many of the counts will come automatically while trying to get others and they come out during specific points in the battle. The Team Because this is a long winded feat (be sure to carve out about 2 hours to form, prep & execute), endurance is far more important than damage. You don't want to get 70% done with the counters and then wipe only to have to do it over! We had 2 tanks to separate the various add types & distract the boss. 2 healers to be completely safe. With 2 healers th...

DCUO: The Silent School Checklist

Image
Note: This is an old post, but the instance and its feats haven't been changed. Fortunately NPC are much easier to kill in the current state of the game, so there is some time savings. Original Date: November 23, 2018 Location: Justice Girls league site Silent School is an RNG-based alert with a lot of feats. I'm pretty sure every run we do will be some kind of feat run. So it's good to have this checklist handy and be aware of which ones you need before we go in. Pisces Be My Chum - KO statues in chum (pink puke) locate the shark with the red liquid (chum) at the timer, move clockwise as the chum shifts over rotate your self heals & have a lot of defensive abilities slotted in Electric Ave - don't get electricuted by eel statues locate the shark with the chum and be on the shark to the right of it (no traps, perfectly open) at the timer, move clockwise to the shark that had the chum as it will be clear the next round if there's no rush, you can also have 3 play...

DCUO: Don't Fight the Power

Image
Batman in JLA Watchtower NOTE: This is an old post, but the feat still exists and the way to get it remains the same, although the current state of the game makes this easier than it's original date. Original Date: October 15, 2015 Location: Justice Girls league site This a feat for both the regular Watchtower alert and the LPVE version. The regular version of this is a non-issue. This guide concentrates on the LPvE version where you're not using your powered up character. You have 4 rounds to defeat Eradicator before he enrages. So you must burn roughly 25% per round. Note that Round #2 is shorter than the other three. So don't get too much into a rhythm or you might kill a drone by mistake. Look for the drones to release much earlier. All 4 players should use the legend they output the most damage with. Don't worry about teamups and checklists for this run. I recommend going with a legend that has a 35% finisher like Wonder Woman's Coup de Grace. This should be sp...

DCUO: Corner of Gotham & Vine

Image
Dark Knight Batman at Arkham Asylum Note: This is an old post, but the instance and its feats haven't been changed. Fortunately NPC are much easier to kill in the current state of the game, so there is some time savings to what is still a grindy feat. Original Date: September 2, 2013 Location: Justice Girls league site Description: Wrap up each of the Gotham Heroes in Quick-Growing Vines inside the Arkham Asylum solo instance. This is a villain only feat from Ep6: Home Turf . This has to be one of the worst feats in the game. I finally got it the other day, so I wanted to share all the information I gathered. You need the quick-grow vines from one of the external missions. So when you have that mission, don't waste them all... use only as much as you need to complete the task. The vines expire in 7 days. So when you get the random daily task, know that you'll be spending some time replaying the interior instance... possibly without completing it right away. This took me abo...

DCUO: Who's the Boss? - The Hunt

Image
Note: This is an old post, but the instance and its feats have never been changed. Original Date: August 18, 2013 Location: Justice Girls league site Here are some screens of the visual cue for telling which boss you'll face in the Huntress solo. You don't even have to start fighting to see it. Just go to the corner of the conveyor belt and look towards the mobs. There will be a different object to the upper right. Venom Canister = Bane Cage = Killer Croc Dufflebag = Hush Lab Vat = Scarecrow

DCUO: Returning Players

Image
Azrael in Bombshell Paradox It can be overwhelming to return to a 15 year old MMO that's been through many structural changes and core enhancements. It would take years to get up to speed at the rate you were grinding back when you first started and you'll always be behind current players who are grinding at the same rate, but didn't take time off. This article is designed for you to have a substantial amount of skillpoints with light but efficient grinding. Do these things to have anedge over new users who simply use a CR Advance token to skip to the current episodes. You'll have a  respectable SP-to-CR ratio. NOTE: This article was written in June 2026, with Episodes 51-53 being the recent 3. AAA Checklist Before diving into the episode content, it's important to make sure your character is squared away first. There have been many additions to the character's arsenal and they all start with "A." Below is the order in which you should activate them as...

DCUO: Summit of Sorrow Paths

Image
Unfortunately, there's no special trick in "Hope Burns Bright: Summit of Sorrow" solo mission for getting the Perfect Path run/feat. It is a run that you'll strive to get every time because it's not just a feat... it makes the daily mission significantly shorter. It's almost a 2x difference between the perfect run and all wrong. However, there are a few things worth knowing that can reduce a little bit of time: First, when the summit begins, the first 2 nodes are guaranteed blue and you can skip them to save a couple of minutes of combat. Just run... er... walk past both of them and either continue straight or turn right... either has equal chances at this point. The majority of the nodes work via conditional logic. If you come across a gray, then the adjacent one on the other path of the fork will be 100% blue. The 2 gray logos that have a blue glow on the map above are NOT at forks. If you pass either of these 2, the next one on the path will be 100% blue....

DCUO: Ultimate Recruitment 2026

Image
Being reluctant to both run through the leveling missions again and then have another alt to add to the lineup, I judge the rewards for these event harshly. So here's a list of all of the rewards and whether or not I think it's worth it. Gotham City Emergency Signal This is a kickstarter reward for the event. You don't actually have to do anything to get this other than log on to a character that's below level 30. Keep in mind that you can pass this to any character after that. The Gotham City Emergency Signal gives you a massive 25% XP boost while equipped, but with 1 per account, I think it's better to keep on an actively used character. It's an additional AoE damage that helps out from solo to alert. In some solo situations, it will clear adds as it does in leveling. Because of it's long cooldown, I do not save this to my armories, but will swap it in during combat if I need an additional 360 clear attack. And now for the rest of the rewards after you com...

DCUO: New Character 2026

Image
We're in another "Ultimate Recruitment" event in DC Universe Online. While I was never motivated enough to bring in another alt, it is is interesting to see how strong they could be now before the first mission on Brainiac's ship even starts. For context, I have a 14 year old account that was Legendary for a good 13 of the 14 years. In this article, I'll limit it to just things we can do for FREE (or already purchased on the account): Marketplace:  You can redeem all of the account bound items, things that are redeemable on every character. This will certainly get you some if not all of the style counter feats (100 being the final). You may even get feats from Legends you purchased. I think the only thing you can't redeem yet are the base themes. Event Reclaim: This is the newest and most SP loaded item. Go through each category carefully and reclaim all. Each one gives 1 SP and most will make you more powerful. You can have elite backup and elite orbital to...

2-Row Ability Tray Recommendations

Image
Happy 15th Anniversary! The 16th year starts off with a pretty big bang with the addition of a 2nd row of loadouts. The sudden addition increases our characters' power levels considerably once ironed out and used right, but can be quite overwhelming at first. Hopefully this article give you some direction in how to set up your loadouts. I will keep it as general as possible so that it can apply to all power sets. From Patch Notes: New Additional Ability Tray The Additional Ability Tray is a major quality-of-life and combat flexibility upgrade that significantly expands how players build and use their loadouts. This new system introduces a second, fully functional ability tray, giving players more room to adapt, specialize, and react during combat. With the Additional Ability Tray, players gain access to a second full set of abilities that can be configured independently from their primary tray. While only one tray is active at a time, players can instantly swap between trays with ...

Campaign 2025 Reward Analysis

Image
You worked 4 campaigns across the year and we're now finally at the end. The choices for reward are all big ticket items, so you will want to think hard and weigh out very possible reason. You will also want to think and anticipate future releases. In this article, I will analyze my 3 accounts and why I made the choice for each one as they are not exactly the same. RE: Shaded Comic Shaded Comic is the only reward choice that does not affect progression in the game. It is purely cosmetic but ultra rare. Based on RNG it is also the only one above $100 value. I favor progression and I will be weighing out factors related to progression and strengthening the characters on each account. For this reason, none of my accounts will choose this option. Additionally, Shaded Comic is a very nice material, but it has 1 imperfection that bothers me... there is no skin to match it. The material gives the character a pseudo cel-shaded texture, but it doesn't look right on the style of skin. It...

DCUO: Generator Mods (Episode 48)

Image
Here's the component list for the 48.4 base mods: Health = Battery Fragments + Cybernetic Actuator Power = Overcharged Matter + Enchanted Beast Horn Dominance = Brainiac Diode + Otherworldly Chitin Restoration = Metagene Fusing Solution + Battery Fragments Vitalization = Silicon Wafer + ??? Precision = Cybernetic Actuator + Brainiac Diode Might = Ancient Vellum + Overcharged Matter Each mod uses: 5 of the matching components above 6 Matter Enhancers 25 of the corresponding episode's core elements For Episodes 42-47, click here .

DCUO: Metal I, Galaxy Brain Feat

Image
I thought I'd make an article for this old Metal I feat since it's easy to forget after not doing it for years. This is the solo feat for arranging the panels that unlock the Rogues Exhibit . Click the cog to start the game Click to move the Sound panel away from Fire Click either Ice or Clouds and swap them The only requirement is to not have Sound and Fire touch after 2 moves. So if you achieve it on the first move, the second move is arbitrary as long as you don't move Sound again.

DCUO: Wolf Pack Token

Image
Step-by-Step 1) Buy the Wolf Pack token from the Marketplace. You can do this on any character as it will appear as a currency across the account. 2) Log on the the character that holds the Level 200 artifact that you want to replicate to all other characters. 3) Go to Constantine in the House of Legends and buy the Wolfpack version of the artifact that you want to replicate. Only the ones at 200 will be available to buy (the others appear in red), so that safeguard is there at least. This will use up the account wide 1 Wolfpack currency. 4) Unequip and unprotect the manually built artifact. Feed that into the level 0 Wolfpack version. This does not use any catalysts or other components. 5) Once you do that, a ticket will appear in your base dispenser. Redeem that and then the Level 200 Wolfpack version will appear in the base dispenser for every character on the account.  Applications While this is a very costly item, even on sale, you now have a fully leveled artifact for...

DCUO: Overrun Area 51 Cutscene

Image
Overrun Area 51 from Episode 46: Brainiac Returns is one of the most efficient modern duos. The elite version is also a nice gift for farming renown quickly. But... for altaholics, things can always get faster! You can save a little over 30 seconds each run if you take out the adds before the second boss in order, roughly from right to left (relative to how you're facing when you arrive). Group A The 3 mobs closest to you on the ground have to go first. Be careful that you don't get knocked into aggro'ing the ones to the far left (Group C) and also don't fly too high and aggro the ones on the level above. The earth and tornado powered ones can knock you up and far quite a bit! Group B For the two mobs on the 2nd level, you'll want to take out the one guarding the door (that opens for the boss room) first. Then move along the catwalk and get the other one. While doing this, you can lob a shot down to Group C so that they take the stairs up to you. Group C The mob...

DCUO: Tantu Totem

Image
The Tantu Totem is a DPS artifact inspired by Vixen's necklace of the same name. I tried to give it a go on the live server, first at the entry level of 80 (when the base abilities unlock). Then I moved it up to 120 because nothing was triggering. With it being one of the "stacking" type artifacts, it really wasn't going to be testable until 200. Here's a screenshot of the artifact at Level 0, so you can see why it almost never triggers a the entry "on" level... So the safe thing to do was max it on the test server first!  Overview & Sparring Target Test Instance Run Is it worth leveling on the live server? Is it worth using a Wolfpack Token for the account?

DCUO: The Wing Armor Problem

Image
3 Body Problem Parody History At launch, there were 3 objective types for the Wing Armor daily mission: Standalone Wing Armor = 1pt Standalone Vine = 1pt Combo with a Wing Armor and Vine with Cog = 3pts After 3 days, the devs found performance issues affecting the open world rooted to the combo unit above, so they removed it. In doing so, this inadvertently broke the Wing Armor spawns altogether, leaving just the vines at a long enough interval that the daily was not worth the time spent for the 1 mark. Meme Bonus Week Shortly after that, they increased the spawn rate of the vines to 40s (this will be important for the tips I go over). They also tried various fixes to return the Wing Armors, including increasing the spawn rate (twice), creating more nodes, making them 2pts and grounding them... none of those fixes have worked. July 1 Patch: Since nothing else has worked, the devs updated the mission to 8pts total instead of the launch 20pts. This does make the mission more than 2x fast...
