Campaign 2025 Reward Analysis

You worked 4 campaigns across the year and we're now finally at the end. The choices for reward are all big ticket items, so you will want to think hard and weigh out very possible reason. You will also want to think and anticipate future releases. In this article, I will analyze my 3 accounts and why I made the choice for each one as they are not exactly the same.

RE: Shaded Comic

Shaded Comic is the only reward choice that does not affect progression in the game. It is purely cosmetic but ultra rare. Based on RNG it is also the only one above $100 value. I favor progression and I will be weighing out factors related to progression and strengthening the characters on each account. For this reason, none of my accounts will choose this option. Additionally, Shaded Comic is a very nice material, but it has 1 imperfection that bothers me... there is no skin to match it. The material gives the character a pseudo cel-shaded texture, but it doesn't look right on the style of skin. It only works perfectly on characters that are fully covered up. So moving forward, let's evaluate the non-cosmetic factors...

Main Account

Profile: 2 characters (Alyssa, Takhisis) are in the current content. 2 characters (Shadowdragon, Aleena) run event versions of current content. 8-16 others run seasonal outside and/or inside. During non-seasonal periods, maybe about 2-4 of these will move up to event content. In general, most toons across the board have powered up artifacts. Even the bank alts are at around level 120-140 simply because the feature is old and much of the early years of articat XP were toon bound. Most toons do not have powered up allies because the feature is newer and has a longer grind.

Thoughts:
  • Because of the sheer size of the account, the choices of a 140 artifact or a level 7 ally would only benefit a small percentage of the account. So these 2 choices get eliminated quickly.
  • A Wolfpack token and 1000 Ally Legion are the same value on the Marketplace ($100 regular price, no discounts). Each has the greatest value when the account has 1 character with the artifact/ally fully maxxed AND every other alt has the same artifact/ally at 0. With this mentality, I am not looking at artifacts or allies already on the account because there are few cases where they are maxxed on just 1 and 0 on all others. It would have to be a new artifact/ally or upcoming release. Artifacts are typically released per episode... so maybe 2-3 per year. Allies seems to be more often than that. So this increases the likelihood of needing more Ally Legion than Wolfpacks. (+1 Ally Legion)
  • An artifact is more frustrating to level because it has the low success rate at higher breakthrough points whereas an ally is more of a brute force mark drain, but no breakthrough failures. So a Wolfpack is saving the breakthrough frustration x the number of alts on the account. (+1 Wolfpack)
  • Once an artifact/ally is unlocked, you can equip it on all of the characters on the account. With that in mind, I imagine having a level 200 artifact OR a level 10 ally on every toon. What makes a bank alt or seasonal farming toon stronger? A max ally only affects them for a short period of time, but a max artifact gives them innate stats well above their CR. (+1 Wolfpack)
Decision: In this case, I can safely go on the point system because all of those thoughts are equally important. So I ended up getting a Wolfpack token. Neither decision is bad in the case of this account. I don't feel bad about buying either of these 2 products during sales because of the size of the account. This formula factors in and rationalizes cost per character: (Wolfpack price) - sale - member discount / number of toons. I ended up picking Wolfpack because I imagined what I'd want to do least... level multiple copies of the same artifact OR the same ally. Artifacts are more annoying because of breakthrough frustration.

2nd Player PC Account (Premium)

Profile: This account just has 1 active character (Anna) and 1 other (Sivak) that assists my main account in running duos. There are 4 bank/storage characters. Anna (Gadgets) and Sivak (Ice) have very little artifacts or allies in common. Anna assists Aleena on the main account, but I do also run some content on her for solo leveling. Sivak assists Tirnoch or Takhisis on the other account.

Thoughts:
  • An account with 6 characters would be the toughest to weigh out because it's at a point where it's not altoholic nor single character. Neither Wolfpack or Ally Legion would favor this account like the main one. (+1 140 Artifact, +1 Lvl 7 Ally)
  • Getting the main character, Anna a powered ally (Wonder Woman) or artifact (Corrupted Ring) is pretty straightforward. The account has neither of these items started.  (+1 140 Artifact, +1 Lvl 7 Ally)
  • Eventually it would benefit Anna to have both of these things. A 140 artifact does have the frustration of the 120 and 140 breakpoints. So I would rather have the artifact done for me than the ally. (+1 140 Artifact)
Decision: The frustration of breakthrough is the tiebreaker here as well.

Nintendo Switch

Profile: This account just has 1 active character. I only log on for the stabilizer daily and 1-2 seasonal runs.

Thoughts:
  • This is more or less a single character account, so immediately Wolfpack and Legion are eliminated. Switch is the newest server, so the age discrepancy between artifacts and allies is less than the other server.
Decision: Ultimately the artifact system with breakthrough is one of the biggest negatives of this game!

*Notes: For the level 140 artifact option, you get a choice of artifacts from a list of all, including the ones you have in your inventory as well as 1 XP item that fills an empty one all the way to 140. Because the list overlaps what you have, be sure you have an artifact in mind before you pick and empty one. Also, with the XP being it's own separate object, you DO NOT have to use it right away. You can save that giant chunk for a bonus week and probably get it close to 200.
